Days out are lead by Jim Evans who has +30 years of experience from roadside ‘cragging’ to remote expedition leadership or one of our  trusted associates

Jim holds the Winter Mountaineering & Climbing Certificate (WMCI), the highest UK specific climbing and mountaineering instructional award.

He’s as passionate about passing on knowledge to others on how to operate safely in the mountains as he is about pursuing his own adventures. Inclusive access to the crags and fells of the Lake District National Park, whatever age, ability or background is a key belief of his.

Quality is reassured by his Full membership of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors (AMI) and its rigorous continual professional development, professional standards and code of conduct.

Full and specific Public Liability Insurance reflects the industries expectations and trust in his abilities.

Jim’s passion for the Lake District and discovering its climbing has taken him on an exciting experiential journey from roadside crags to mountain faces. From classic routes to harder test pieces and his own first ascents in the Lakes, Scotland and beyond.

When he’s not climbing he’s a keen fell runner, competing in the local races and challenges, characterised by completing a ‘Bob Graham Round’ – 42 peaks, 27000ft, in under 24hrs.

His climbing, guiding and instructional experience range from big walls and classic north faces to major peaks on six continents, most recently leading ski mountaineering expeditions to Arctic Greenland.

Jim has worked for some of the countries best outdoor centres and operators including Glenmore Lodge (Scotland’s National Outdoor Training Centre), Brathay Trust and Tangent Expeditions…..

…….And looks forward to hearing from you!
